The three organizations are:
You can visit their websites to learn more about their missions and programs.
The title comes from the book itself, My Tree, combined with the mission: Your Impact. Every purchase helps save children from trafficking and exploitation, and your support spreads the word, encouraging others to take part in this mission. Once one million copies are sold, all profits — not just a percentage — will go to these organizations.
My Tree was written and illustrated 25 years ago. I wanted to preserve the original illustrations when self-publishing, so only minor color touch-ups were made. You can read more about the history and artistic choices on our History Page.
Rooted in Thankfulness is a 90-day guided journal that helps you build a simple daily habit of gratitude, joy, and kindness. Each day, you reflect on what you’re thankful for, something that brought you joy, and one act of kindness or generosity. Weekly reflection pages help you notice growth and stay intentional over time. Created as part of the My Tree Your Impact movement, this journal is designed to encourage personal growth while reminding us that small daily choices can make a meaningful difference.
Are profits from Rooted in Thankfulness going to the same organizations as the My Tree book?
The journal follows a slightly different giving model than My Tree. Rather than a progressive giving structure, Rooted in Thankfulness uses a simple 70/30 split of profits. Thirty percent of the proceeds are donated, with those funds shared evenly between local churches and school groups in the Delaware and Otsego County communities where I live. I am also continuing the commitment to cap personal profit after one million copies sold, ensuring that as the journal grows, its impact continues to grow as well.
We are committed to full transparency. We will:
Post YouTube videos showing donations being made
Share images of donations and confirmations
Provide tax documentation reflecting annual donations
Important Note: Donations are not sent weekly or monthly, as it’s just my wife and me managing this alongside full-time jobs and family responsibilities. All funds are kept in a separate account, and donations are made quarterly or semiannually, depending on book sales.
